Catholic Vocation Prayer Requests
Your Catholic vocation prayer requests can be submitted here. Whether you are trying to discern a vocation to the religious, married or single state in life, your prayer intentions will be remembered in our daily Rosaries.
If you are making sure to pray and make sacrifices for this intention, make an annual retreat and confer with your spiritual director, have confidence that eventually God will reveal his Divine Will for you.
Your vocation may not be an immediate one. God may need you in the world right now so you can gain experience and training, whether through college or a vocational school or even just training working in a school, office, store or even just staying home and helping your parents (as long as you aren't 'hiding your light under a basket' ~ Remember we are responsible before God for using our talents to the best of our abilities).
Real life experiences will help you bring so much to your religious community or to your spouse when the time is right for you to move on to your vocation for life. Talents in the medical field, secretarial, book-keeping, teaching, retail and many other experiences are needed to help in your married life or your religious life. Keep in mind that priests, brothers and sisters also get sick, have to pay bills and teach others. ;-)
Basically I am trying to say NOT to shy away from training in a field you may have an interest in, because you also feel you might have a vocation... speak to your spiritual director and see what he says.
Sometimes it is God's will that you have training in a particular type of job so you can bring these talents to your religious community or your spouse.
